Each additional submission is $245 No entries will be accepted after Friday, February 24, 2023B) GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS These awards will honor the most exciting construction projects of the year, either inside or outside of Northern Ohio (completed by companies located in Northern Ohio). Include a written description of the project as directed on the Information Section. Please note the Judging Criteria and the weight of each criterion, as those are the points on which your submission will be judged. C) JUDGING CRITERIA A weighted system is used to evaluate the criteria. A criteria with a weight of “3” for instance, would be multiplied by a value of from 1 to 5 assigned by each of the judges. The total of all weights times the value is summed from all judges and the highest total score is the winner. BE AS THOROUGH AS POSSIBLE in your responses. Judges will most often not contact you for clarification on details and may not visit each submission. You will be judged based on your formal submissions. The criteria being judged with weights are: Degree of Project Difficulty (weight 5); Difficulties encountered and overcome relating to design, regulatory requirements, site, materials, etc. (weight 5); Management methods and techniques: including overall management of the project (weight 3); Schedule challenges (weight 5); Waste minimization procedures / recycling efforts (weight 2); Value Engineering efforts / ideas brought to the owner or architect (weight 4); Location challenges, managing a project away from the home office (weight 3); Innovations developed to overcome project challenges (weight 4); Workforce organization and training (weight 2); Relationship with client, architect, authorities, community and work force (employees, suppliers, subcontractors, etc.) (weight 5); Quality of the completed project: completion on time and within budget; standard of work (construction programming, cost management, defect minimization) (weight 5); Safety: approach and standards, was there a formal safety management plan? What were the results? Accidents on the job? (weight 5); Budgets met / % of change orders (weight 5).
