Fulfills mandatory Core Civil Rights and Fair Housing requirements for Real Estate Licensees (3-hours, approved)

Presented jointly by NAIOP, ACAR, CCIM, SIOR and Akron CREW, in this three-hour class attendees will learn more about fair housing, civil rights, and ADA as they pertain to commercial real estate.

 

Program Overview

The three-hour class will be led by George Carr, Director, Sikora Law LLC

Part 1: Civil rights laws as applied to commercial real estate, including history and foundation; includes ADA, FHA, and similar laws in Ohio and its political subdivisions.

Part 2: Practical challenges in identifying potential violations of ADA, FHA, and similar laws and how to overcome them, including discussion on best practices for risk management and liability control.

Part 3: Recent trends in application and enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act and similar laws throughout the country; including real-life case examples.
