Instructor
Michael J. Sikora III (“Mike”) is the Managing Partner of Sikora Law LLC, a boutique law firm that handles litigation and transactional matters for real estate companies throughout Ohio. Mike is also the President of Omni Title LLC, which handles primarily commercial real estate transactions throughout Ohio.
The Ohio State Bar Association Real Property Section named Mike a member of its Section Council in 2010, and he is currently the outgoing Chair of the Real Property Section Council. In his capacity as member of the Ohio State Bar Association Real Property Section Council, Mike has led and is leading several major legislative initiatives, to improve Ohio real property law. He has drafted or been involved in drafting six bills that have become Ohio real property statutes. Mike has testified as an expert for the Ohio State Bar Association before the Ohio General Assembly (Ohio House and Ohio Senate Committees) on matters dealing with Ohio real property law.
Mike was named an Ohio Super Lawyer or Super Lawyer Rising Star eleven times. In 2005, he received the Ohio Land Title Association President’s Award for his outstanding contributions to that Association. He was named Outstanding Member of the Northern Ohio Chapter of NAIOP in 2008. Mike served as President of the Ohio Land Title Association from 2010-2011 and served on the Ohio Land Title Association Board of Trustees for six years. Mike has been a member of the Title Counsel of the American Land Title Association since 2014. Mike served as President of the Northern Ohio Chapter of NAIOP during 2016, and he has been on the Board of Trustees of that Association since 2008. Mike is President Elect of NAIOP Ohio, and he serves on its Executive Committee.
Mike attended The Ohio State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Finance. While at Ohio State, he worked for Buckeye Real Estate Property Management and later for Pizzuti Realty. Mike then attended law school at Capital University Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude. While at Capital, he was recognized with numerous honors, including Outstanding Oral Advocate, Moot Court Champion, Order of the Curia, and served as Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board. He was also a member of Capital’s National Moot Court Team and was published in the Law Review.
He has spoken before numerous associations, such as the Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio Land Title Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, NAIOP, Columbus Board of Realtors, Akron Cleveland Area Realtors, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, Columbus Apartment Association, Akron Bar Association, Commercial Real Estate Women, and the Central Ohio Land Title Association. Mike is also the Editor of Ohio Real Property Law and Practice that is published by LexisNexis.
